Play at Home Preschool Unit 1

I'm so excited to share with you all what I've been working on recently!

With everything going on right now, I know so many of you are making really hard decisions regarding school in the fall. Whatever decision you do make will be the best one for your family, but if you're planning on being home more come fall and you have a preschooler, I'm here to hopefully help!

Using my teaching experience in the classroom and at home, and my background in family studies, human development and psychology, I've been creating an easy, play-based preschool program to do at home. The daily activities don't require tons of materials, and often just use everyday supplies you probably already have.

This program is intentional, sequenced, does not take long to prep, and focuses on all the necessary skills needed to be successful in elementary school. It's mostly geared for ages 2.5-5 depending on each child, but it's also very easy to adapt to your child's developmental level. I will be personally using it for my daughter (who will be 3 in October) and as a supplemental program for my son (5) who will be starting kindergarten (full distance learning.)

The program promotes diversity and inclusion, and every unit has at least one book on the suggested book list that includes diverse characters and/or helps teach lessons about celebrating differences and acceptance. Encouraging kindness and empathy is a big focus of the program as well.

If you sign up for my email list (or if you're already on it), you will be sent a FREE sneak peak of Unit 1: Colors (you'll get 3 full days of activities plus a little look into the rest of the program). If you're interested in learning more about the program, visit the "SHOP" section of my website!

If you've already purchased the program, here are affiliated links to some of the recommended supplies for the unit. If you already have your supplies, scroll down to see more pictures from the unit!

You do not need to purchase or have every single one of these supplies for the unit! Many of the supplies you could easily DIY or use something you already have at home. But since so many of you were asking for links, here they are!

The majority of these things will be used again and again throughout the year!

In unit 1 you need ONLY ONE set of colored math counters. I've listed a few of the counters we love!

Here's a little more info about UNIT 1: COLORS!

Every unit is 2 weeks long. Each unit has two weekly overview pages (above) and each day has a daily lesson plan (below) with pictures. Every day includes a literacy or math activity, a second activity (math, literacy, sensory, fine motor, gross motor, craft, STEM, etc.) and daily letter work.

I hope you enjoy the unit as much as we do! If you love it, sharing with others is the biggest compliment I could get!

I can't wait to see you all play at home for preschool!

XOXO,

Brittany
