Winter Themed Activities

Updated: Jan 5

It's hard to believe that it's already January! Time to switch gears from holiday fun to some cute and simple winter crafts. Check out these winter themed activities below, there is a little bit of something for everyone!

DIY Shatterproof Snow Globe by Stay at Home Activity Mom

These are super fun to make and pretty simple too! Check out our blog post here for step by step instructions on how to make these. Your kids will not want to miss out on DIY snow globes! You don't have to be limited to holiday trinkets inside, you can do any type of theme your kids like... dinosaurs, unicorns, etc!

Dot Art by Stay at Home Activity Mom

These dot art projects always turn out so cute and can be changed for any theme or holiday. Paper, tape, and dot markers (linked) are all you need, so this is a quick one to pull out and setup.

Q-Tip Snowman by Happy Toddler Playtime

This is a creative use of those Q-tips that you most likely have sitting around in your bathroom, and what a cute little snowman it makes! It's also great fine motor practice for your kids. (Be sure to supervise children while crafting with Q-tips).

Make a Snowman Sensory Bin by Stay at Home Activity Mom

Sensory bins are so much fun and provide endless amounts of play. They are also great to pull out when your kids need a little reset on those days where the sibling bickering is taking over. There is something about water play that is an instant mood booster!

Snowman Donuts by Hello Wonderful Co

There is nothing better than a activity you get to eat afterwards... we call it a "snacktivity". Pull out some leftover holiday candy and let your kids create these adorable snowmen! Yum yum!

Snowflake Math by Stay at Home Activity Mom

This is an easy way to practice some math over the break but your kids will feel like it's just a fun activity. Write a number inside the snowflake and equations on the dot stickers and have your child match them up. You can simplify this if needed by just having numbers on the stickers to match up with the snowflake. Or you can draw dots and have your kids count those and match them with the snowflake. Full directions are on Instagram (just click "Snowflake Math" above to be taken there).

Snowman Card by Craft Monsterz

These would be adorable to send to friends or give to neighbors. They are just so sweet and simple and your kids will love doing the fingerprint snow!

Snowman Explosion by My Busy Kid

This science activity is one your bigger kids will love! Littles will love it too but of course keep a close eye on them and wear safety glasses while doing this outside. Check out the reel when you click "Snowman Explosion" above. It is SUPER cool!
