Everything You Need to Make Valentine's Day Bubble Wands

Basic Supplies for Your Valentine's Day Bubble Wands

The beauty of Valentine's Day bubble wands is that you probably already have most of what you need! Just in case though, I have put together an easy-to-shop Amazon list for you!

For the Wands:

For the Bubble Solution:

  • Dawn dish soap - The secret to good bubbles is quality dish soap
  • Water - Distilled or tap water both work
  • Glycerin or corn syrup - This makes bubbles stronger and last longer
  • Wide, shallow container - For dipping your DIY heart bubble wands

Step-by-Step: How to Make Your Valentine's Day Bubble Wands

Making the Heart Bubble Wand

Let's start by creating the actual heart and handle for your bubble wand. This part is easier than it looks, I promise!

Form the Heart:

  1. Take the top tip of the pipe cleaner and bend it down and toward the remaining "stem", about 1/3 of the way from the top.
  2. Twist the tip onto the stem to create a loop.
  3. Gently bend the top of the loop downward to create the heart shape!

Personalize the Handle with Beads:

  1. Use a mix of the pony beads and letter beads to create and customize the bubble wand handle.
  2. Allow your child to create freely. You can extend learning by inviting them to create patterns, spell their name, etc!
  3. Leave about a half inch of pipe cleaner at the end to twist and fold up to keep the beads in place.

The Best DIY Bubble Solution Recipe for Valentine's Day Bubble Wands

Your beautiful DIY Valentine's Day bubble wands deserve amazing bubble solution! Here's the bubble solution recipe that works beautifully with pipe cleaner bubble wands:

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup Dawn dish soap (blue original works great)
  • 1 tablespoon glycerin or light corn syrup
  • Container: you could use a mason jar or tupperware

Instructions:

  1. Gently mix the water and dish soap in a container
  2. Add the glycerin or corn syrup and stir slowly (too much stirring creates foam)
  3. Let the solution sit for at least an hour before using - this makes stronger bubbles!
  4. Store in an airtight container; it gets better after sitting overnight
