Here's a really fun indoor game that you can create using just a few materials. This DIY sticky dart board is great for older toddlers and preschoolers that have big energy and love to throw things! It also helps with motor skills, early math skills, turn taking, and more. Kids of all ages will love playing this, and it's mess-free and a great alternative to regular darts.
We will share what you need to make the DIY Sticky Dart Board and Instructions on how to make it below.
Here's what you need to make the DIY Sticky Dart Board:
- a big piece of white paper (like this chart paper)
- a permanent marker
- contact paper
- painter's tape (our favorite is this tape)
- big pom poms (here are the ones we use)
Instructions on how to make the DIY Sticky Dart Board:
Step 1: On a big piece of paper, draw a big circle, and some smaller circles inside. You can include numbers if you want in each section.
Step 2: Use painters tape to tape the piece of paper onto a vertical surface like a wall. Tape along the edges of the paper.
Step 3: Take contact paper and place it directly over the white paper sticky side up. Use painters tape to tape the contact paper down by taping it along the edges.
Step 4: You're ready to play! Use big pom poms as "darts". For younger kids, you can just have them throw the pom poms onto the dart board. For older kids, you can play against someone and/or play to a certain number.
